KOMMA #1 - poetic correspondence
comment on 'Question Mark'
23-24-26.02 2021

As part of Komma, Cartwright and Van Schijndel spent two evenings (23 and 24 Feb.) and an afternoon (26 Feb.) at the Question Mark exhibition in PARK: 'We were inspired by the works to create our own autonomous work as a result of the exhibition in which we were able to hang around freely and undisturbed.

We are poets and so we use the medium of language in our works. Inspired by, among others, one of the works, in which a chain is used and whose large chunks of marl can quite easily be interpreted as broken chains, we have conceived the plan to produce a collective text in the form of a chain of poetic letters. The letters respond to the exhibition and to each other. To "take home" the inspiration of the exhibition, we applied a sometimes almost absurdist associative formalistic deconstruction in six categories which is added as an appendix to the correspondence.'

The final form of the work has not yet been determined. Possibilities they consider are a publication, a live lecture or audio recordings.
