Abel Ton is a versatile artist who surprises his audience. During his jazz guitar conservatory studies at Fontys Academy of the Arts, he discovered freely improvised and contemporary composed music, the use of effect pedals/loop stations and the power of interdisciplinarity. Through years of composing and improvising with a large collection of effect pedals, he expresses his creative expression with a vocabulary of sounds for which his instruments were not originally intended. His palette of sounds is expanded with his voice which he also manipulates with effects.
Abel Ton collaborates with De Link, Tilburg in Motion, Sound of Europe, Jazz in Duketown, Paradox, various dancers, circus artists, actors/actresses and designers. He believes that art is one of the most effective ways to raise important issues and make an impact.
Ton reacts to the exhibition Underpaintings & Overpaintings. The performance is on Saturday, June 21 at 3.30 pm.
Cooperation with De Link.
