CLAIRE ADAMS

CLAIRE ADAMS

KOMMA #48 - singing, composition
18.10 2025

Claire Adams (1996) is a Spanish-Dutch artist who composes intriguing, conceptual art songs. In her work, she interweaves experimental acoustic influences with ambient electronic sounds, resulting in a unique and genre-transcending aesthetic. With her musical language, Claire creates layered listening experiences that invite silence and reflection in a time when our society seems to be becoming increasingly fast-paced and unpredictable.

Claire studied both violin and classical singing at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Tilburg and subsequently developed into a versatile and progressive performer in the field of contemporary and avant-garde music. She has performed as a soloist at leading festivals such as November Music, premiered works by various contemporary composers, and collaborated on interdisciplinary projects with Sounding Bodies, Emphia, and ION Collective, among others. Her unique combination of voice and violin often forms the core of hypnotic, experimental soundscapes.

In 2019, Claire received the Jacques de Leeuw Prize for her work and artistic vision. In 2020, she was selected as an emerging talent within the Music Hub Brabant development program. She recently completed her master's degree in Contemporary Performance at Berklee College of Music and is currently studying philosophy at the Spanish distance learning university UNED. This philosophical background gives her a solid theoretical foundation.

Claire reacts to the exhibition Picture The Room. The performance is on Saturday, 18 October at 3.30 pm.
