Frann Schollaert (she/they, 1999) is a maker and performer based in Tilburg. Her artistic development began at the Arts Humanities School in Brussels and was further shaped through the dance program at Fontys Academy of the Arts, with a focus on Contemporary Urban and Choreography. In her graduation year, she received the Jacques de Leeuw Award for performance and design.
In her work, she departs from the body as a vulnerable site where emotions, memories, and tensions manifest physically. The inner experience is central: being present, feeling, and moving out of necessity. She does not regard the body as a static carrier of experience, but as a living landscape that continuously changes under the influence of expectations, boundaries, and relationships.
From this vision, she developed the movement research project Broken Bodies during her studies. Within this practice, she investigates how trauma and transformation leave physical traces and become visible through movement. Asymmetrical and fragmented movement patterns make stored tensions tangible and reveal both the vulnerability and resilience of the body. This exploration is nourished by personal experiences and encounters with other artists.
Frann Schollaert responds to the exhibition YARN. The performance will take place on Saturday 6 June at 3.30pm.
