LISE LORIAUX

LISE LORIAUX

KOMMA #60 - dance, movement
12.12 2026

Lise Loriaux (2004) is a Belgian dancer and performer based in Tilburg, the Netherlands. She studied Dance at Fontys Academy of the Arts, with a focus on Contemporary Urban. Her artistic development began at Kunsthumaniora Brussels, after which she further explored her interest in various movement practices through training and travels in Sweden and Italy.

Although dance has always played an important role in her life, it is not the only art form that inspires her. Driven by her interest in scenography and installation design, she also studied architecture and design. This background plays an important role in the way she approaches space, form, and movement, as well as in how she finds inspiration for her work.

Loriaux is curious about connecting different art forms and exploring the ways in which they can influence one another. Her movement inspiration often emerges from what she observes in her surroundings—images, spaces, people, and everyday situations—which she then combines with her own imagination and inner world. She explores how observations can transform into movement, and how movement, in turn, can give new meaning to what she perceives.

Theatre and the dramatic quality of a scene play an important role in her work. Loriaux is interested in how emotions, tension, and stories can be not only told, but also made physically tangible and visible. In her work, she explores the interaction between the body, space, and imagination, allowing different art forms to come together and strengthen one another.

Lise Loriaux responds to the exhibition This Being a Temporary Structure. The performance will take place on Saturday 12 December at 3.30pm.
