Kunstscene is Tilburg's open studio weekend on 8 and 9 November, organised by Stichting Ateliers Tilburg. Besides open studios, there are also pop-up shops, exhibitions, films, workshops, live art and demos. PARK will also take part in Kunstscene. On view is the exhibition Breather.
And on Sunday 9 November, performances by A Sonic Oasis will take place in PARK at 3 pm and 4 pm under the title Immersive sound experience. A Sonic Oasis is a musical group dedicated to creating immersive sound experiences that invite deep listening and reflection. In their performances, the audiences are encouraged to sit or lie down, close their eyes, and connect with the surrounding soundscapes. Their performances have taken place at renowned venues such as Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, Galerie Toqueur (Amsterdam), Cultural Center Door in Dordrecht, and De Nachtzuster in Tilburg, as well as in festivals (Boulevard in Den Bosch, MOMO in Rotterdam) and also in private events.
The group’s work blends music with themes of nature, sustainability, and community. Commissioned by Kunstloc Brabant, they composed a piece inspired by the trees at Werkwarenhuis in Den Bosch, premiered at Kunstlocked to highlight the link between art and environmental awareness. For the national event Dag Van de Componist they were selected by De Link to represent Tilburg with a site-specific composition performed in various locations throughout the city.
In their last project, A Sonic Oasis did a residency with composer Aart Strootman and cellist Jacqueline Hammelink, supported by the AMARTE Fonds, where they were developing new techniques and expanding their repertoire. A Sonic Oasis is Maia Steinberg and David Bellos.
PARK is open both days from 1pm to 5pm.
