DEAR AWKWARDNESS

DEAR AWKWARDNESS

exhibition Ana Navas
02.03 - 07.04 2024

Ana Navas, born in 1984 in Quito, Ecuador, and raised in Venezuela, is a multidisciplinary artist. Her work focuses on themes of assimilation and appropriation, with an emphasis on the origins of art and design objects and the relationship between high and popular culture.

'Dear awkwardness,' is a personal letter, in which she gives thanks for the concept of awkwardness. She acknowledges its negative impact on social situations but also embraces its positive influence, integrating it into the process of making her art.

The glass works displayed at PARK were recently produced at MAKE in Eindhoven and show this 'awkward mentality'.

You are cordially invited to the opening on Saturday, March 2, at 4pm, which will be performed by visual artist Toon Verhoef. On this day, PARK will be open from 3pm.

PARK is open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5pm and by appointment. Free entrance.

Thanks to Stichting Niemeijer Fonds.
