PRESENTATIE KOMMA #61

Mahdokht Mojiri - singing, performance
12.12 2026

Mahdokht Mojiri participates in the KOMMA program. She has a short working period at PARK and responds to the exhibition This Being a Temporary Structure.

Mahdokht Mojiri (1998) is a Persian soprano, performer, and interdisciplinary artist from Iran, currently based in the Netherlands. Her artistic development began with the study of Iranian classical music and traditional instruments in Iran. Growing up in a context where women are not permitted to sing publicly shaped her relationship with the voice from an early age—not only as a musical instrument, but also as a means of expression, identity, and freedom.
Since 2021, Mahdokht has continued her artistic development in the Netherlands. She initially studied at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague and later continued her studies at Fontys Academy of the Arts in Tilburg. Moving between Persian musical heritage and Western classical and contemporary musical practices has become a central part of her artistic identity.

Lise Loriaux is also making a KOMMA inspired by the exhibition. On Saturday 12 December, they will both present their interdisciplinary maker's commentary.
Starts at 3.30 pm. Admission free, welcome!
